Holy
Trinity Anglican Church
Holy Trinity Anglican
Church is a new congregation in Powhatan, Virginia. You won’t find us on a map because we don’t have a
building. Here are some of the
things you will find when you worship with us.
You will find welcoming
people who want to be your friends. We
are comprised of people from many different backgrounds who have found
meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging in this congregation.
We do not claim to be the only Christians in the county, and we gladly
work with others to advance the Kingdom of our Lord.
We do believe we have a unique ministry as a conservative liturgical
church, and that the benefits and opportunities of belonging to Holy Trinity are
equally unique.
You will find people who
love and reverence the Bible. To us
the Bible is not a dusty book of outdated fables; it is the revelation of God.
It is His message of hope and grace that touches our areas of greatest
need. It is our message of life
from the One who created and loves us and knows how to give good gifts to His
people. The Bible is the foundation
of everything we believe and do. Even
in worship, most of what we say comes straight from the Bible, word-for-word.
We have at least two readings from the Bible, and the sermons apply its
teachings to life today. We also
encourage daily Bible reading and prayer as important parts of the way to
Christian growth and meaningful life.
You will find people who
embrace and proclaim the Bible’s message of grace in Christ Jesus, which the
Church has proclaimed from its very beginning.
We believe God is gracious and full of mercy. He forgives our sins and brings us into full and meaningful
life because He conquered sin when Christ died for it on the cross.
He offers life in God as the gift of His grace to all who will receive it
by faith in Christ.
You will find reverence
for the Anglican Way of life and worship that is so beloved today, and has
brought many millions into the kingdom of Christ. It honors God and edifies people because it is Biblical.
It grew out of the Reformation in England, and connects us to the way of
life and worship that has blessed God’s Church for two thousand years and
more. We do not break with this
Way. We cherish and embrace it, and
we invite you to share and love it with us.
You will find a
congregation of the Anglican Orthodox Church.
Founded more than forty years ago, the Anglican Orthodox Church was the
first of many groups to remove from the ECUSA and return to traditional
Episcopal doctrine and practice. We
are a rapidly growing, worldwide communion with branches in many countries
around the world under the godly leadership of our bishop, The Most Reverend
Jerry L. Ogles. Our vicar is the
Rev. Dr. R. Dennis Campbell. Educated
in well known theological schools, he is the author of two books; He Shall Reign; the Meaning and Message of the Book of Revelation,
and Gotta Run.
You will find God at Holy
Trinity Anglican Church. His Spirit
is here and His word is here. You
will find Him in the people, in the fellowship, and in the worship.
Please consider this your personal invitation to worship with us.
We want to find you here too.
